Change How Highlighting is Displayed

You can hide or show highlighting. This might be helpful when a particular version has several highlights in it, and you want to give a Slide Show using that Text without the highlighting displayed.

Highlighting can be hidden for the selected Text or Tool pane, or as a default for that version or tool. In the instructions below, if you are working with a Tool choose Set Tool Pane Display and work from within the Set Tool Pane Display dialog box.

  1. On the Display menu, choose Set Text Pane Display. The Set Text Pane Display dialog box appears.
  2. If working in the Set Text Pane Display dialog box, click Advanced . The Contents and Reference items are displayed. (Skip this step if you are working with a Tool.)
  3. Choose any of the following:
  4. Hide verse highlighting: When selected, color verse highlighting is turned off. This item is not available in the Set Tool Pane Display dialog box.
  5. Hide word highlighting: When selected, color word highlighting is turned off.
  6. Click Use as Default if you want to hide the highlighting in that Text or Tool whenever it is opened.
  7. Save your changes. The verse and or word highlighting is no longer displayed in that Version, Text, or Tool.

Both the verse and word highlighting turn on automatically if you add any highlighting to a word or verse, or if you search for a highlighting style.

You can also choose the same options as defaults for all installed Texts or Tools via the Preferences dialog box (Text Display or Tool Display area, respectively).
