1. Via the Library, open a new Search tab The core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area with the desired Bible text with Key numbers (such as KJVS, NAS95S, or NIV-G/K).
2. Set the tab to search for Verses and click inside the Search Entry box.

3. Click the Search Options pop-up menu () and verify that the search is set to an Exact search.

   Choose Exact if it is not selected.

4. In the Search Entry box, type Gen 1 and press Return.

1. Place the cursor over the word "beginning" in Gen 1:1. You should be able to see that the Hebrew word is "reshit" in the Instant Details.
   
   If you do not see the Key numbers and words in the Instant Details, either this is not a Key number text, or you need to check the Preferences (Instant Details area) for correct display of the instant details.
2. In the Search tab, click in the word "beginning."
3. On the Amplify To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. menu, choose Search XXX (where XXX is the name of the active The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element module Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource). A new Search tab opens displaying the same English word throughout the same text.
4. On the Hit Options bar, click Details and then choose Analysis. The Analysis tab opens in a new zone.
5. The Analysis tab shows the Greek or Hebrew words that are translated as "beginning."
6. Note that several different words are used.

Note If you do not see the Key numbers and words, on the Display menu choose Set Analysis Display to open the Set Analysis Display dialog box. Select the Show Key Number item.

Studying the English Word "beginning"

The Hebrew word and transliteration are shown in the Instant Details. The Analysis tab shows all instances of the word "beginning" in the KJVS text.

These next steps walk you through an example of studying the Hebrew word.

1. Click in the word "beginning", right-click and choose Search For>Key Number in the shortcut menu Also known as a contextual menu, acessed by right-clicking (or pressing Ctrl+Click, Mac only) over a screen element that appears.

   

   A new Search tab opens which has automatically found the same Hebrew word throughout the same text.
   

2. Scroll through the text or use the Analysis tab to get an idea of the range of meanings of the Hebrew word "reshit."

In the initial study of the word "beginning" in Hebrew, you found that it could be translated as "beginning" or as "first." Let's limit your search to "reshit" when it is translated "beginning."

1. Click in the Search Entry box of the last Search tab, after the Key number, and type: @beginning.
2. This limits the search to the Key number only when it is attached to the word "beginning."

2. In the Search Entry area, press Return. The search results display every verse with "reshit" translated as "beginning."
