Understanding Key Numbers
The picture below helps to understand a key numbered text. The first line of Psalm 23 is shown in both Hebrew and English. Note the Hebrew uses an entirely different script, a foreign vocabulary and is read from right to left.
English versions translate each word into English and arrange them in proper order for that language, so they read left to right.
The colored rectangles in the picture indicate the relationship between words in the two languages.
Texts tagged with key numbers use numbers to show the relationship between words in the two languages. For this example, H7462 and H2637 point to their underlying Hebrew words.
While these numbers are normally invisible, you can see them in the Instant Details when the cursor hovers over a word in a Key numbered text.
