More About Tabs

The Search tabClosed The core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area is the core of Accordance Bible Software. It displays the Bible text that you are using and has an area in which all searches are defined. However there are several other tabs in Accordance.

While these tabs have unique characteristics, they also share common features. The unique features of each tab type are described elsewhere in this Help.

The following features are common to most tabs in Accordance:

Edit windows have a separate Search and Replace option, and do not have a Search Entry box.

You can only navigate through verses displayed in the tab.

Save a TabSave a Tab

  1. On the File menu, choose Save activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab. The standard Save dialog box appears.
  2. Enter a name for the tab file. If desired, navigate to the location where you want to save the tab file.
  3. In the Save dialog box, click Save. The tab is saved as a separate file.
  4. When the tab file is opened, the tab is initially displayed in a new workspace and zone.
  5. You can always drag the tab into another workspace or zone.

Rename a TabRename a Tab

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Right-click on the tab and choose Rename Tab.
  3. Press + Opt+N.

    The Set Tab Name dialog box appears.

  4. In the Set Tab Name dialog box enter the new tab name and click OK. The new name is displayed on the tab.

Unless otherwise noted, each tab initially opens in its own zone; however, you can move different tabs to different zones, resulting in mixed zones.

Construct tab Used to graphically define a phrase using powerful criteria; the content of a Construct tab forms a single search argument Click File>New Construct and choose Simple, Greek, or Hebrew; you can also add a New Construct button to the toolbar ()
Analytics tabs Displays different graphs, charts, and tables for analyzing search results Click Click to open graphs and tables for analyzing your search results at the top of the Search tab; this tab always opens in its zone for the search results and cannot share a zone with other types of tabs
Atlas tab Displays maps from the Atlas package Click Click to select the desired background for an Atlas map in the Library
Parallel tab Displays parallel Text modulesClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource consisting of sets of Bible verses that are parallel in content to each other Click Click to view available Parallel modules, which open in a special Parallel tab in the Library
Parsing tab Displays details for the selected words (Grammatically tagged text or text with Key numbers only) Select the text then click Parse button on the Workspace toolbar on the toolbar, or choose Language>Parsing from the Amplify menu
Reference List tab Displays lists of verses which are of particular interest to you Click File>New>Reference List
Research tab Used to search through your entire library, or defined groups of modules Enter a search word/phrase in the Research box (Search All box (top right of the Workspace toolbar)) and choose the desired groups of modules to search
Search tab The tab from which most of your research and analysis are performed; displays the text and search results Automatically opens when you first start Accordance; to open a new Search tab, click File>New>Search Text
Text tab Displays Bible text for viewing its context and comparing text; this tab is NOT searchable On the Amplify menu, click Context
Timeline tab Used to display Timeline data from the Timeline package Click Click to open a Timeline in the Library
Tools tab Displays all Tool modules in Accordance Click one of the Tool modules listed in the Library
User Notes tab Displays notes which you have attached to different texts; at least one User Notes file must be created to open this tab In the My Notes area of the Library choose the desired User Notes file
User Tool tab Displays tools which you have created (manually, via copy/paste, or import); at least one User Tool file must be created to open this tab In the My Tools area of the Library choose the desired User Tool file
