[TOPIC ?]
The TOPIC command is used to find all verses in a Text module Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource that have been associated with a particular topic. To quickly add a [TOPIC ?] command in the Search Entry box, press Shift+
The TOPIC search is performed in a manner similar with the Accordance algorithm for locating a book name: You only need to enter enough characters to uniquely identify the desired topic.
Examples:
- [TOPIC Adam] will find all verses with Adam the person and Adam the city.
- [TOPIC Ada], however, is too ambiguous. In this case the Select Words dialog box appears for choosing a more complete word to search for as the topic.
- [TOPIC Nebuc] will fin all verses related to Nebuchadnezzer.
To specify a particular topic in the case of similar names, add the type of topic in parenthesis.
Examples:
- [TOPIC Adam (person)] will find only those verses related to the topic of Adam, the person, and ignore verses related to Adam, the city.
- [TOPIC fly (verb)] will find only verses where the topic relates to the verb form of fly.
- [TOPIC fly (animal)] will find only verses where the topic relates to an animal that flies.
The example below compares a search for [TOPIC fly (animal)] vs [TOPIC fly (verb)].
