Amplify Basics

The AmplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. By default, clicking a word is not enough to select it; you must double-click or drag the cursor to highlight part or all of the word. You can allow a single click to select a word for amplifying via the Preferences dialog box (General area).

A triple-click on a word or phrase in a Text or Tool amplifies to the resourceClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or module selected via the Amplify area of the Preferences dialog box.

To amplify from a verse, word, or phrase to another resource:

  1. In the activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element panel or tab, select the verse, word, reference, or phrase of interest.
  2. Select the desired module or item from the Library, Amplify menu, or shortcut menuClosed Also known as a contextual menu, acessed by right-clicking (or pressing Ctrl+Click, Mac only) over a screen element. The requested information is displayed in a new tab, or an existing tab is updated with the requested information (recycled).

Hint

When amplifying via the shortcut menu, you can choose to amplify to a single module in a User Group. When numerous modulesClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource are installed, this may be a quicker way to locate the desired resource.

To amplify from a word or phrase to the same resource:

Right-click on the selection and choose one of the options in the pop-up menu (Search Word or Search For).

The above instructions are quite basic. How you amplify from one tab to another may vary slightly depending on what module you are amplifying from and to. In addition, there are shortcut menus and shortcut keys that can be used to amplify more quickly.
