• To select one object on the Atlas, click on it.
• To select several objects on the Atlas, press Shift as you click each additional object.
• To select all objects in the layer, do one of the following:
• On the Edit menu, choose Select All.
• Press Ctrl+A).
• If the object has a fill, click anywhere inside the object to select it; if it has no fill, click the border line to select the object.
• Drag-selecting a box with the Selection tool selects all objects overlapped by the box. An invisible rectangle encloses all the points and handles of any object, and in the case of curves and angled lines may extend a distance from the object itself. If the box overlaps any part of the invisible rectangle when you drag-select, objects may be unintentionally selected.

A selected object appears with square points at the ends or corners.

• To change the shape or length of the object, drag one of the corner or end points.
• To change the position of all selected objects, drag an object between the points.
• To remove all selected objects, press Delete.
• To duplicate selected objects, hold down on Alt+ while dragging the selected objects.
• To bring the selected objects to the front of the layer, click Front () on the User Layer palette. This is useful for rearranging objects from back to front.

You cannot directly rotate objects on the User Layer. However, you can achieve this effect by rotating an object (such as text or a picture) in another software application. You can then copy and paste the object onto the User Layer. This method is useful for obtaining rotated text, as is used for region names (although the text may be ragged).
