Search Syriac Texts
The Syriac Peshitta and other texts are also available in Accordance. These texts are offered in Syriac script using the Peshitta font, and often also in Aramaic characters (Yehudit font) for those who do not read Syriac. Where available, grammatical tagging appears on both versions of a text.
The Syriac is treated like Hebrew throughout Accordance. Refer to the following information when performing a search in this text.
- The texts are listed with the Hebrew texts in the Library and right-click submenus.
- The tag details are similar to Aramaic.
- Automatic character forms and accents for Syriac are fully supported for text entry.
- Export of Syriac is fully supported including Unicode and transliteration. Only the stripping of cantillation marks is ignored for Syriac.
- The Hebrew construct tab is used for doing Construct searching in Syriac.
- Other tabs such as the Parsing, Analysis, Concordance, Text Compare, Diagram, and Syntax are similar to those for Hebrew texts.
Note Placement of the Syriac vowels in the Peshitta font is an approximation. When converted to Unicode and exported to Mellel, the vowels and other diacritical marks are placed more accurately. |
