Save and Copy Graphics
The graphical content of Map, Timeline, Image Display, Construct, Plot, and Diagram tabs can be saved as an image file. You can choose JPEG, or PNG image formats. Image files can be opened by many graphics programs, and imported as a graphic into most page layout programs and word processors.
- Click inside the tab to make it active The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element.
- On the File menu, choose Save As Picture, and select one of the following options: JPEG File, or PNG File. The Save dialog box appears.
- In the Save dialog box proceed as follows:
- In the Name box, enter a name for the graphic file.
- In the Where box, navigate to the location on your computer where the file is to be saved.
- Click OK. The graphic displayed in the tab is saved in the desired format and location.
- Click inside a tab with the graphic to make it the active tab.
- On the Edit menu, choose Copy Picture. The image in the tab is copied to the clipboard.
- Note that Copy Picture replaces Copy under these circumstances.
- If only part of an image in a Map, Diagram, or image Display tab is selected, the Copy item is replaced with Copy Picture Selection.
The image can be pasted into any application that accepts PNG images.
You can also drag an image thumbnail from a Tools tab and drop it into a document from another application. The image appears in the document as a full PNG image.
Hint Copy Picture in an Image Display tab copies the entire image at full size. To copy the picture at the displayed size, select the image and copy the selection. |
Note You edit the individual components of images from the Diagram tab in another application. |
