Set Word Count Dialog Box
Use: The Set word count dialog box is used to enter the parameters for the COUNT Command, when added as an element in a column of a Construct tab. Functionality is the same as when entering the COUNT command manually in the Search Entry box; i.e. only words that occur the specified number of times (or specified range) within the search range (Search Range pop-up menu; Search Entry area of Search tab The core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area) are found.
Prerequisite to opening: A Construct tab is open.
Open the Single search character dialog box: Drag a Character Element item into a column of a Construct tab.
- Left and Right boxes: The COUNT command searches only for words that occur the specified number of times (or specified range) as entered in the left and right boxes.
- Left Box: Enter a value only in the left box to define a specific number.
- Right Box: Enter a value in both boxes to define a range of numbers.
- Dialog box for English text: Available modifiers are Words and Key Numbers.
- Words: Only the number or range appears with the command; for example, [COUNT 5].
- Key Numbers: The k modifier appears with the command; for example, [COUNT k=5]. The search argument uses Key numbers within the defined search range.
- Dialog box for grammatically tagged text: Available modifiers are Lemmas, Words, and Tags.
- Lemmas: Only the number or range appears with the command; for example, [COUNT 5]. The search argument uses the list of words (lemmas) within the defined search range.
- Words: The i (inflected) modifier appears with the command; for example, [COUNT i=5]. The search argument uses the list of inflected word forms within the defined search range.
- Tags: The t (tags) modifier appears with the command; for example, [COUNT t=3]. The search argument uses the list of all tags within the defined search range.
- OK: Inserts the element in a column of the Construct tab, together with the entered values (number or range) and selected modifiers.
