Preferences: Web & Text Browser
Prerequisites for use: None; this dialog box can be opened at any time.
Use: Used to set the default homepage and default bibles used in the web browser, and the default text group and font size for the Text Browser.
Open: Click Web & Text Browser in the list of the Preferences dialog box. The Web & Text Browser area is displayed (labeled "Web and Text settings").
Options in the Web & Text Area of the Preferences Dialog Box
Web Browser Area: These options relate to functioning of the internal web browser.
- Homepage:Used to specify the default homepage.
- Use Legacy Web Browser: When selected, Internet Explorer is used as the default engine for the Accordance Web Browser. If deselected, Microsoft Edge is used. (Note: if Microsoft Edge is not installed, Internet Explorer is used, and this preference is not displayed).
Hypertext Area: Used to specify the default bible displayed when hovering over or clicking a verse reference in the internal web browser.
- Text Pop-up Menu: Choose the Bible text used when opening a Scripture reference link, or viewing the text in the Instant Details when a cursor is over a reference. You can choose from any installed text.
- Alternate Text 1 Pop-up Menu: Choose the Bible text to use if the verse is not found in the first text.
- Alternate Text 2 Pop-up Menu: Choose the Bible text to use if the verse is not found in the first text or the Alternate 1 text.
Text Browser Area: These options relate to display of the texts in the Text Browser.
- Default Text Group: Select a User Group to be used as the group of Texts displayed when using the Text Browser.
- Use default text size for all panes: When selected, all texts and references in the Text Browser are displayed at the font size selected in the Size Pop-up Menu.
- Text: This item sets the default font size for text in the Text Browser.
- Reference: This item sets the default font size for verse references in the Text Browser.
Export Area: These options relate to the export to convert a file to another format for use in another application. of the Text Browser to a text file.
- Include heading details: When selected, the verse reference and group name is appended to the top of the exported text file.
- Abbreviate text name: When selected, the name of the Texts will be abbreviated ("ESVS" vs "ESV with Strong’s") when exporting the Text Browser.
- Remove line breaks: When selected, all line breaks are removed when exporting the Text Browser.
Note: Line breaks are removed in both in the contents and between texts. - Hide verse reference: When selected, all verse references are hidden when exporting the Text Browser.
- Hide superscripts: When selected, all superscripts are hidden when exporting the Text Browser.
- Interleave verses: When selected, exporting multiple verses from the Text Browser will be grouped by verse.
