Select Root Forms Dialog Box

Prerequisite to opening: Cursor is in the Search Entry box of a Search Tab for grammatically tagged text, with search set to Words.

To open the Select Root Forms dialog box, do one of the following:

In the Search Entry box, right-click and choose Enter>Root from the shortcut menu Also known as a contextual menu, acessed by right-clicking (or pressing Ctrl+Click, Mac only) over a screen element.
Press Opt+ and then choose Enter Root Forms from the Search menu.
Press Opt++L.
Drag a ROOT item into a Construct tab.

Left panel with an alphabetical list: Displays the root A root is a unit of a language that cannot be further divided, from which words are derived by modification. The root does not necessarily survive as a word in itself. The Accordance roots may combine homographs and therefore a single root may include roots with different etymologies and meanings. In Hebrew, by convention, the lexical form (lemma) of a verb is the same as the root. forms for every word in the search text. Since glosses are attached to the lexical forms rather than the roots, they do not appear in this list.
Use the scroller The control you drag in the scroll bar and arrows to scroll through the list.
Click a word to add it to the Words to enter box.
Double-click a word to add the word to the Search Entry box and close the Select Root Forms dialog box.
For multiple words, double-click the last selected word to add all selected words to the Search Entry box and close the Select Root Forms dialog box.
Go To box: Used for entering characters to scroll the list to the closest word.
If you use the Go to box to locate the words in the list, the box is cleared after each word is chosen, ready for your next entry.
Example: Typing ag in the Go to box scrolls the list to Agag in Hebrew and Agathos in Greek.
Words to enter box: Collects the words selected from the list. You can edit the words directly in this box.
OK: Enters the selected root forms in the Search Entry box, preceded by a plus sign (at the insertion point), or inserts the construct item.

If multiple words are selected, they are added to the Search Entry box in parentheses and separated by commas as alternate search criteria. In this case, the search criteria is met if it contains any of these words.
