Cross-Platform User Notes/Tools Files
![]() |
Note User Notes and User Tools files do not need to be renamed if they were created in Accordance for Windows. |
The User Notes and User Tools files in Accordance have unique file extensions for cross-platform use. The file extensions are automatically applied to your User Notes and User Tools for Accordance Versions 10.3 and higher.
- File extension for User Notes: .acc4
- File extension for User Tools: .acc7
-
When you first update to Version 10.3 or higher, a message box appears warning that the new file extension will be added to the file name. This will require re-upload of all User Notes and User Tools to Dropbox. If you choose not to add the extension, you can do so manually later on.
To rename these files on your Mac:
- Sync all User Files before adding the file extensions.
- Navigate to the user/Documents folder.
-
Locate the desired file and rename it with the correct extension.
For example, the file "My Notes on Mac" would be renamed as "My Notes on Mac.acc4".
Caution
Any unsynced changes to your User Notes on other devices will be lost (that is, they will not be incorporated into the renamed file). Therefore, be sure to Sync your User Files BEFORE adding the extensions.
