Example: Create Atlas User Layer Sets

Goal: You want to combine two or more user layers to create a single set of layers. You will combine the User Layers Alexander's Empire and Seven Wonders into a singe set of layers.

Note

Atlas sets are created by grouping multiple layers. This procedure is the same for Sites, Regions, Routes, and User Layers

Create a User Set by doing the following:

  1. Open a 2D Atlas tab. An Atlas tab can be opened via the Library, the File menu, or the Workspace toolbar.
  2. Select Define User Layer Sets from the User Layers pop-up menu. The Define User Layer Sets dialog box appears.
  3. Click New at the top of the Define User Layer Sets dialog box. [New set] appears in the Name of set field.
  4. Double-click Alexander's Empire in the User Layers area of the Define User Layer Sets dialog box. Alexander's Empire is displayed in the Layers selected box.
  5. Double-click Seven Wonders in the User Layers area of the Define User Layer Sets dialog box. Seven Wonders is displayed in the Layers selected box.
  6. Give your new user layer set a unique name in the Name of setfield by typing Alexander & 7 Wonders.
  7. Click OK. The Alexander & 7 Wonders user layer set is created and displayed in the 2D Atlas tab.

The new user layer can now be displayed by selecting Alexander & 7 Wonders from the User Layers pop-up menu.
