Set Paper Display Dialog Box

Prerequisites for use: A Paper tab is the activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab. 

Use: The Set Paper Display dialog box is used to define how information is displayed in a Paper tab.

Description: Changes affect all Paper tabs. If you want your changes applied to all future Paper tabs, click Use As Default.

Do one of the following:

  • In the Action menu of the Paper tab, choose Set Paper Display.
  • Right-click inside a Paper and choose Set Paper Display.
  • Press +T.

Appearance Area: These items are used to change leading and background color settings.

  • Line Spacing Slider: Move the slider to add space between text lines and improve readability. The text displays and prints with the line spacing set here.
  • Background Color Pop-up Menu: Used to choose the background color of the pane. A variety of colors including pastels and black are offered. You can also set a custom color.

New Text Items Area: These items are used to font settings for Outline text.

  • Font, Color, and Size Pop-up Menus: Used to apply a specified font, color, and size to the Outline text in a Paper. Changing the Font item here does not affect the font of the End Notes and Bibliography, which is set separately.

End Notes & Bibliography Area: These items are used to font and footnote style settings for End Notes and Bibliography.

  • Format Pop-up Menu: Used to set the style of bibliographic information for the citation. Choose one of the following:
  • SBL: The style that is recommended by the SBL Handbook for inclusion in a Bibliography or list of cited works.
  • Turabian: The style that is recommended by Turabian for inclusion in a Bibliography or Works Cited.
  • APA: The style that is recommended by the APA for inclusion in in-text citation, a Bibliography or Works Cited.
  • Chicago: The style that is recommended by the Chicago Manual of Style for inclusion in a Bibliography or Works Cited.
  • MLA: The style that is recommended by the MLA for inclusion in in-text citation, a Bibliography or Works Cited.
  • Simple: A simple style that includes only the name of the work in a Bibliography or Works Cited.
  • Font, Color, and Size Pop-up Menus: Used to apply a specified font, color, and size to the Outline text in a Paper. Changing the Font item here does not affect the font of the End Notes and Bibliography, which is set separately.

Hypertext Area: These items are used to select the default Text for Scripture links.

  • Text Pop-up Menu: Choose the Bible Text used when opening a Scripture reference link, or viewing the Text in the Instant Details when a cursor is over a reference. You can choose from any installed Text.
  • Alternate Text 1 and 2 Pop-up Menus: Choose the Bible Texts to use if the verse is not found in the first Text.

Outline Markers: Options in this area set the format for numbering of Paper outlines. Custom numbering options are available for up to eight outline levels. Select None to hide the item marker for that particular hierarchical level.

If more than eight levels of outline are required, Accordance will number each additional outline sequentially, beginning with "1"
