Use the Daily Reading Workspace

The Daily Readings workspace displays a devotional or daily reading for the day on which it is opened, along with a Text zone in which Bible texts cited in the devotional can be displayed.

Instructions for working with the Daily Readings workspace are provided beneath the picture.


Open the Daily Readings WorkspaceOpen the Daily Readings Workspace

Via the Workspace Toolbar: On the toolbar, click Daily Reading (The number displayed changes with the day of the month). The number displayed on the button changes with the day of the month.

Via the Menu Bar: On the Window menu, choose Daily Reading and the desired devotional. Choose Default Reading to open the default devotional set in the Preferences dialog box.

At Startup: You can have the Daily Reading open at startup via the Preferences (General area), as detailed below.

You can view citations in one of the devotionals using the Instant Details or the Text tab.

Via the Instant Details: Place the cursor over the citation. The reference is displayed in the Instant Details.

Via the Text Tab: Click the citation. The Bible text is displayed in the Text tab.

Set Daily Readings PreferencesSet Daily Readings Preferences

The Daily Readings preferences are set in the Preferences dialog box, Reading/Research area.

  1. On the Accordance menu, choose Preferences. The Preferences dialog box opens.
  2. Select Reading/Research in the left panel to display the Reading/Research area.
  3. Choose the desired default devotional from the Default Devotional pop-up menu.
  4. To enhance readability when viewing the devotional in Read mode, enter the desired font size in the Reading Mode area.
  5. Select Tool Display in the left panel to display the settings for all Tools and User Tools.
  6. To choose the default text for linked Scripture references in the Daily Reading, choose the desired Text and Alternate Text (Hypertext options).
  7. Select General in the left panel to display the General options area.
  8. From the Start-up pop-up menu, choose Daily Reading to have the Daily Readings open at start-up.
  9. When done, click OK to save your changes to all the Preferences.
